July
Yet another difficult month. When the Sun has shone, it has been too windy or hazy for imaging.

A few small prominences and some small filaments.
The sunspots in Active Area 898 show up well with some complex filaments close by.

The same 90 images stacked using Registax,
then sharpened up using "wavelets" in Registax.

Single image from the camera, this time overexposed
by 2 stops to help bring out detail in the prominences.

The same 50 overexposed images stacked using Registax, then sharpened up using "wavelets" in Registax.

This image is the result of  reprocessing the same basic images using a different technique which was posted on the Cloudy Nights Solar Forum by "Redvis" aka Cameran Ashrafs. This technique uses the "High Pass Filter" in Photoshop and produced the pleasing effect of the Sun against a light background. Colour is added to the B&W processed images using "Color Balance". The effect is less harsh  than the "Hue and Saturation" method which I used previously.
